Unlike some other video doorbells, the Nest Doorbell is designed with a vertical field of view. A 3:4 ratio means you can see people from head to toe, and packages left on the ground. HDR helps with bright, high-contrast light at all times and night vision gives you a clear image of what matters, even in low light and darkness. Answer your door, even if you’re away from home. Note: Some features, including mobile notifications, remote control, video streaming and video recording, require working internet and Wi-Fi. Talk and listen to visitors through the built-in speaker and microphone. And if you have a Google Nest Hub or Google Assistant enabled smart display, you can easily answer the door from anywhere in your home. The Nest Doorbell is battery powered, so it’s easy to install. Pair with Nest Mini to get an audible chime, or choose the wired installation to get your existing chime. You can also connect the Nest Doorbell to your doorbell wires and hear your existing chime when someone rings the doorbell. Just make sure you check to see if your existing doorbell is compatible with Nest Doorbell. The Nest Doorbell uses encrypted video, two-step verification, and enhanced security through your Google Account to help protect your family’s privacy. And a green LED light lets you know when the camera is processing or streaming video. Requirements: Doorbell power: Rechargeable battery (included), or existing doorbell wires (8–24 VAC, 10 VA, 50/60Hz transformer). Doorbell chime: Existing compatible wired mechanical or digital chime, or new compatible chime/Google Nest products (sold separately). The Nest Doorbell requires a Wi-Fi network, a working broadband internet connection with at least 2 Mbps upload speed (DSL may not qualify), a compatible mobile device, the free Google Home app, and a Google Account.
